Metro-sif cum band fest!!

its been quite long since and its Christmas eve today!!! let see what happened for the past 2 weeks
Week 1 : last 2 session of metro.yea the metro sif thing has came to an end..though its not my first time doing volunteering, bt this experience is quite interesting. i have made some conclusion about the metro thing.

1) Along the way, my partners and me met some really kind people who are like into the charity thing, but most of the time it is all the balloons which are the magnet of the donation.
2)make more heart shape and flowers, cause most of the children which came are girls.
3) swords/knives/flower stem/unused fully pumped balloons is the most popular design.
4)you don't get to sit(other than breaks) while doing balloons.
5)unsuspecting children will run towards you and grab any balloon.
6)if u look a little old they will call you uncle.(regardless of children and aunties and uncles themselves)

there you have it, some of the conclusion made from making balloon sculptures...oh yah.. here are some prototypes made by me (:

week 2:

band fest week !!! at first i thought it would be boring, but it turned out to be quite fun. the first day was kind of retarded( i mean the games part) i was kind of retarded in the games. then i kena the forfeit which was to act like the mocca muscle man( check out my matching pipes) i did it badly and kind of bored people..lol then it was section lunch and then it is sectionals with Mr Oura/ Oura sensei.

he is a good conductor and a patient one i must say. cause we were like quite screwed up for the first practice. we were all retaught the basics of handling sticks and instruments.but we can sense that at the later half of the sectionals he wasn't very pleased..

anyway.. onto day 2 where we know each other better.. we prayed that it would be as bad as yesterday for the sectionals, it wasnt that bad after all,probably mr oura didnt come anymore lol. after lunch we met our legendary conductor: Mr Tan. he is freaking hyped up with the conducting which make it kind of difficult for us to follow at first. damn funny as it was the first time of my life to see a conductor like this..

and the third and fourth day was kind of boring. especially when we were going through October. it was a "KILLER" for percussion. i seriously mean it coz percussionist are killed by it and have fallen asleep. they could not tahan the boredom and eugene bring out the awakening, a deck of cards! we were down there saying " one no trump", "2 hearts" while the conductor was conducting. then all of a sudden, "Where's the suspended cymbals!?" it was damn funny..lol.
another thing was that i met julian at the third day of the practice. probably he came to take some photos for his njc band. then after the whole thing, we were there saying...wake me up when October ends...

and finally the wait is over and the concert day camE!! it was damn happening at the back stage rather than the front.cause like we were down there tuning and stuff and it was bustling at the backstage..after the concert it was a relief as everything was over!!haha...it was a good concert( though the nie instrument got haywire) and for fennell band the drunstick flew.
